Global Outreach - Rwanda

It’s been over 20 years since the horrible genocide in the Central African country of Rwanda, but many of the scars remain. Not just the physical scars but primarily the emotional ones. The relational ones. The spiritual scars.

The people ask, “Where was God when this terrible thing was happening?” In the aftermath many turned their backs on religion.

But slowly the people of Rwanda have come to see that the only true healing, the necessary repentance and forgiveness that leads to reconciliation, comes through the love of Christ. Thousands have responded to the free offer of grace and put their hope for healing in the hands of Jesus as Savior.

Through the faithful gifts of the ONE campaign we are involved in building a new worship facility for the Agape Church in the capital city of Kigali. Led by pastor Anastase Sabamungu, Agape is bringing the peace and joy of our Lord to hundreds of local residents and changing eternities. The existing church building is nothing more than wooden planks with a tin roof above; the new facility will provide space for children students, and adults to grow in Christ through an improved worship environment.
