Compassion Christian Church
I was bullied, tormented in middle school, and I changed from a happy kid to a teenager contemplating suicide, my heart cold and hard.
My mother, sister and I loved to sing, and we joined a community gospel choir. We weren’t believers; we just loved to sing. Over time, we noticed our mom changed. She wasn’t angry. She was compassionate, and it was because she had given her life to Jesus. Soon after, one by one, we all gave our lives to Jesus.
I have come to know Jesus as Friend, Advocate, Defender, Healer, Deliver, Lover of my Soul, even in my soul’s greatest darkness. His Word – full of His glory – brings me joy unspeakable. He has shown me what it means to live in peace that truly passes understanding.
